Beloved Pet Ofrenda

Honor the Memory of your cherished pets.

Join us for a heartwarming tribute to our cherished animal companions at the Little Rock Zoo’s Beloved Pet Ofrenda. This special event invites you to honor the memory of your beloved pets while celebrating Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) traditions.

We’re excited to offer an interactive outdoor space for the public. Visitors are encouraged to co-create the ofrenda by drawing their pets with provided art supplies and decorating frames for their pet photos. While our Learning & Engagement team and Hispanic community volunteers will be available to assist on weekends, the ofrenda will be accessible throughout all Zoo hours for your participation.

The Beloved Pet Ofrenda, meaning "offering" in Spanish, is a colorful altar created to honor loved ones who have passed away. This display, integral to Día de los Muertos celebrations observed by Hispanic, Latino, and Latinx cultures, includes symbols, pictures, flowers, and meaningful items. Pets are cherished family members, and this ofrenda provides a meaningful way to celebrate their lives with more joy than sorrow.
