Early Childhood Programs
We value connecting families with the natural world. Through mindful program development that is centered on play, exploration, and discovery, we can nurture curiosity and wonder with even our youngest Zoo guests!
Our educators offer programs opportunities for you and your child to discover the Zoo and our amazing animals. When designing these offerings, we understand how important it is to consider a child’s developmental milestones –and of course their interests –as they grow.
Caterpillar Club
Three tailored tracks lead your child on their nature journey from 12 months up to 5 years old. Designed for early learners and their grown-ups, these 60-minute programs require a minimum of one caregiver to attend per child. Classes will be held indoors during the colder months and transition to outdoor locations as it warms up!

Nature Play Pop-Up
Keep an eye out for these mini pop-ups at one of the play spaces around the Zoo! Educators will have a variety of free-play items set up for your family to enjoy. Each month will have a different theme and feature activities that encourage building, music-making, close observations, movement, and more!
Nature Play Pop-Ups are free with Zoo admission.
