Celebrate World Bear Day with the Little Rock Zoo!
Join us on March 23rd for World Bear Day and learn all about these fascinating creatures!
Bears are important links in food webs and help to maintain populations of other species. At one time, bears were widespread across the United States. However, threats such as habitat loss and unregulated hunting greatly reduce the areas where they can be found. With the use of conservation and bear management efforts, such as research, wildlife protection, and habitat restoration, we can ensure healthy and sustainable bear populations. World Bear Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of bear species around the world. Visit the Zoo to learn about the conservation organizations we partner with and to discover how you can help wherever you live!
