In February 2024, the Little Rock Zoo celebrated a remarkable event in orangutan conservation with the arrival of a critically endangered orangutan, marking the second such birth at the Zoo. Berani, who previously gave birth to big sister Kasih in 2019, welcomed a baby boy into the world in the early morning hours of February 23, 2024. Both mother and baby are in good health, and the Zoo staff are diligently monitoring the newborn's health.
