Get ready for a wild adventure in outdoor learning with Caterpillar Club! Designed for curious toddlers and inquisitive preschoolers, our early learner programs inspire a love for wildlife and nature through fun, hands-on experiences.

Each 60-minute session engages children ages 12 months to 4 years with sensory exploration, interactive activities, and social play. Classes are held indoors during cooler months and move outdoors as the weather warms.

Program Details:

A caregiver must accompany each child.
Classes are limited to 20 participants.
Sessions are grouped by age.

Pricing:

Zoo Members: $15 per participant
Non-Members: $20 per participant

Includes Zoo admission for the day—enjoy the Zoo before or after your session! Just show your receipt at the gate for entry.

October: Sloth Bears and Friends

Little Rock Zoo is home to six sloth bears. Come join our education team to learn more about these amazing animals – where they live, what they eat, and how they contribute to their ecosystems. In addition to visiting the sloth bear exhibits, we’ll have other activities and meet some ambassador animals that will help us learn more!

October 11
- Morning: 10:30-11:30am, 1-year-olds
- Afternoon: 1:00-2:00pm, 2-year-olds
October 25
- Morning: 10:30-11:30am, 2-year-olds
- Afternoon: 1:00-2:00pm, 3–4-year-olds

November: Farmyard Friends

As winter approaches, there’s a lot to do on the farm. Join our education team and zookeepers at the Arkansas Heritage Farm to learn more about our farm animals as they get ready for winter. We’ll have some farmyard activities, and we’ll get up close with our heritage breeds as we learn.

November 22
