Why the Zoo Access for All Initiative?
Inspiring others to value and conserve the natural world is the mission of Little Rock Zoo and something our team is proud to carry out each day. But we know that for some families, a trip to the Zoo may present financial and other barriers.
The Zoo Access for All Initiative aims to help overcome barriers that may exist for visitation and ensure that all area children and other diverse audiences can connect with our amazing animals.
SNAP Benefit Program
A Zoo patron can present their food assistance card – SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)/EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) (EBT) – to receive discounted regular Zoo admission tickets through our Zoo for All Initiative program. The patron must have a valid SNAP/EBT card and a valid, matching photo ID to purchase admission tickets. (Limit of 6 admission tickets purchased per visit with the SNAP card.
Admission tickets must be purchased in-person at the Zoo.
SNAP benefits recipients may show his or her EBT card and a valid state-issued ID at the Zoo front desk to receive $2 general admission tickets. The cardholder may purchase tickets for five (5) additional people. A total of six (6) tickets may be purchased per visit.
Admission– $2 per person -- Limit of six (6) per daily purchase.
Parking - $ 1 per vehicle
2 and Under - FREE
SNAP cards from any state are accepted.
Not valid for special events such as Zoo Brew, Wild Wines, and others. However, there is SNAP/EBT pricing for GloWild.
Southern Bancorp Little Rock Community Days
Southern Bancorp Little Rock Community Days will function as a component of the Zoo Access for All Initiative but will be its own program sponsored by Southern Bancorp.
The Little Rock Zoo welcomes everyone to join us and explore our amazing Zoo. However, during Southern Bancorp Little Rock Community days, we want to give a special shoutout to the folks who live right here in Little Rock. They're the ones who support us with their taxes, making it possible for us to keep the Zoo running smoothly and even improve it with new exhibits. That's why, during these special days, only residents of Little Rock will be eligible for these discounts as a big thank you for their support.
The following are attributes of the program:
- A day once per quarter when residents of Little Rock receive a $2 admission per person
- Residency proven by driver’s license, ID, or utility bill.
- Parking will be $1.
- The Zoo will be open regular hours from 9 AM to 4 PM, with the final admission at 3:30 PM.
The quarterly dates for Southern Bancorp Little Rock Community Days for 2024 are the following:

The Little Rock Zoo is closed on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and when the Arkansas Razorbacks play at War Memorial Stadium.

No, Little Rock Community Days is a part of Zoo for All, but a separate program. It is for the benefit of the residents of Little Rock who can provide proof of their residency with a driver's license, photo ID, or utility bill. There will be four (4) days each year when those residents may come to the Zoo for $2 and park for $1.
The intent behind the Little Rock Community Days is to give back to the local community in and around the Zoo and to the taxpayers who fund the Zoo. The voters of Little Rock provide 50% of the funding for the Little Rock Zoo and also provided funding for the 2022 Bond that will help build new exhibits at the Zoo. (The other 50% of the Zoo’s budget is provided for by revenue we collect at the front gate, concessions, rides, events, etc.)
