Primates are some of the most intelligent and social animals on the planet. From playful monkeys to majestic great apes, they share many traits with humans and are vital to the health of their ecosystems. Sadly, many primate species face threats like habitat loss, poaching, and the illegal pet trade.
Join us on August 30th as we Celebrate International Primate Day and learn about the diverse primates that call the Little Rock Zoo home!
Did you know that orangutans use tools to help them gather food, or that gorillas form tight-knit family groups led by a silverback? Or that our singing siamangs communicate with beautiful, melodious calls that can be heard even outside the Zoo? Come discover these incredible facts and more about our primates through special keeper talks and fun activities.
All activities are included with regular admission—come celebrate these amazing primates and support efforts to protect them in the wild!
