Zoo drive closed; drivers should use alternate routes
LITTLE ROCK (Aug. 4, 2016) – Visitors to the Little Rock Zoo will need to use alternate routes during the construction of a roundabout at Fair Park Boulevard. Work on the project closed Zoo Drive this week.
Detour signs will lead those traveling from Interstate 630 to West Markham Street then east to South Monroe Street and on to Zoo Drive. Motorists should expect delays and exercise caution when driving through the work zone.
Motorists may also reach Zoo Drive by taking Jonesboro Drive from 12th Street or by taking the Pine/Cedar streets exit from I-630 to Markham Street.
“We expect the construction to take about four months to complete,” said Zoo Director Mike Blakely. “We apologize for the inconvenience but are pleased that when the work is done, there will be a smoother traffic flow at this intersection.”
