Día de Muertos Celebration at the Little Rock Zoo
Celebrate Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) with us at the Little Rock Zoo! This vibrant event is a beautiful way to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away, while embracing the rich traditions of Hispanic, Latino, and Latinx cultures.
Event Highlights:
- Community Ofrenda: Contribute to our communal altar by adding photos, drawings, and mementos of your beloved pets.
- Art & Crafts: Engage in creative activities, including paper marigold making, and face painting.
- Live Music & Dance: Enjoy traditional music and dance performances that will highlight and uplift the spirit of Día de Muertos.
Join us for a day filled with joy, remembrance, and cultural celebration. This event is perfect for families and individuals of all ages. Let’s come together to honor the past and celebrate the present in the beautiful surroundings of the Little Rock Zoo.
Schedule of Activities- October 26, 2024
9:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Meet and greet with Fairy Tale Characters in the front plaza.
9:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Get crafty with Creepy Crafts in the Reptile House.
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Groove to the Monster Mash with Harp on the Steel Drums at the Civitan Pavilion.
Face painting will be available for $12 by the Elephant Stage
11:45 AM: Join the Costume Parade with Fairy Tale Characters from the Front Plaza to the Elephant Stage.
12:00 PM: Play BINGO and silly yard games with awesome prizes at the Elephant Stage.
