Fall 2009 Births
We are delighted to announce several births at the Little Rock Zoo!

Benito and Annita are the proud parents of four new bush dog pups!
The pups were born on September 14th and seem to be enjoying their new home! Annita, a two-year-old bush dog, came to the Little Rock Zoo from Germany.
Bush dogs are only found in five zoos across the United States. They are native to South America.

In primates, a baby Pale Face Saki was born to Fred and Mina on September 12, 2009.

Last, but certainly not least, a baby boy was born to chimpanzee,
Mahale, on August 29, 2009.

Fall 2009 Arrivals
The Little Rock Zoo is pleased to announce the following Fall 2009 new arrivals:
In Reptiles, we have three (3) new Axolotls and a Broadheaded Skink.
At the farm, we recently received four (4) Radjah Shelducks.

New to Small Carnivores is a pair of Reeve's Muntjac, Chris and Marty. Known as the barking deer, Reeve's Muntjac is one of the oldest species of deer dating back 15 to 35 million years ago. They are native to Southeast Asia.

Also new to Small Carnivores is a Capybara, the largest rodent in the world. They are native to South America and spend much of their time in the water. They can weigh as much as 140 lbs.

We are also happy to have a new female ocelot, Dakota. Check back soon for pictures!
Spring 2009 Births
The Zoo is proud to announce the birth of a baby spot-necked otter! The baby was born in March and is doing just fine. Mom, dad, and baby will be off exhibit for a few more weeks as baby grows and the family bonds. Be on the look-out for our new baby in the spot-necked otter exhibit soon!
Fall 2008 Arrivals
The Little Rock Zoo is proud to announce the arrival of two new otters, Kamili and Kipenzi who arrived at the Little Rock Zoo from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The otters are now on display at the otter exhibit. Help us welcome Kamili and Kipenzi!
