Foundation Volunteers
The
Arkansas Zoological Foundation is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization raising funds for the development of the Little Rock Zoo. The foundation is comprised of a board of directors consisting of several dedicated volunteers and community leaders. The foundation hosts two special events each year and is always looking for volunteers to serve on planning committees for these events. Zoo Year’s Eve is the premier fundraiser of the Arkansas Zoological Foundation and Little Rock’s hottest New Year’s Eve party! You’ll ring-in the New Year in Café Africa at the Little Rock Zoo and get cat scratch fever as you dance the night away to one of central Arkansas’ hottest cover bands. Zoo Year’s Eve also features food from more than a dozen area fine dining establishments as well as fun drinks and desserts. Woo at the Zoo is a fun look at the hysterical world of animal mating behavior. Woo is an adults-only after-hours event held at the Zoo where guests get a special tour of the Zoo to hear keeper chats all about animal courtship. Did you know a male spider will present a female spider with a gift to woo her? Or, how about the fact that lemur males “stink fight” for the affection of females?
