Sea World Penguins to Accept Donation for LR Zoo

LITTLE ROCK (November 12, 2010) – Two live penguins from Sea World San Antonio will help Zoo Director Mike Blakely accept a check in the amount of $1,300 from students at Crestwood Elementary School in North Little Rock at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 15.

Crestwood Elementary School recently participated in a “Pennies for Penguins” program where students were allowed to bring money from home to contribute toward the Zoo’s new exhibit.  Classrooms also taught students about penguins and about the importance of charitable giving.

The $1,300 amount is the largest amount the Arkansas Zoological Foundation has ever received from a “Pennies for Penguins” school campaign.

The presentation will start at 9 a.m. sharp in the Cafeteria at Crestwood Elementary School in North Little Rock located at 1901 Crestwood Road.
